The first name Nuri means in Arabic and Hebrew: the light of God's fire, the bright one, the radiant one, someone cheerful and in good humour.

Nuri is also the name of a village in a bend of the Nile River, in present-day Sudan. Here lie 15 pyramids, once built for Nubian Kings. The pyramids of Nuri are generally smaller than the Egyptian ones and are today often in ruins. All these remains belonged to the ancient city of Napata, the first capital of the Nubian Kingdom of Kush. The earliest pyramid was for King Taharga. His direct successor Tantamani was buried in El-Kurru, but all the succeeding Nubian Kings and many of their wives, up to Nastasen (+ 330 BC), were buried here.

Nuri is also the name given to a super-storm with a record in low pressure, that raged over the Bering Sea in early November 2014, which led to an extreme cold-wave in the United States.

But above all it’s the name of Yolanda’s first grandchild and as you can see on this work, it’s a beautiful grandson!
