We are looking out on the Geirangerfjord in Norway, which has been a Unesco World Heritage Site since 2005. It is 15 km long and has a depth of more than 600 meters. Far inland, at the end of the fjord, lies the village of Geiranger. Due to its depth, large cruise ships can moor in the port of Geiranger. The amount runs up to some 140 to180 each year, which increases the number of tourists on this spot to about 700,000 a year! When we got to this point we could just see that there were three large cruise ships docked, but soon a dense fog from the mountains entered the fjord, so we’ll have to settle for this image.....
